Heroes of Healthcare: Matthew Stoddart, Montana Boyce and Daniel Shelford
Matthew Stoddart, Daniel Shelford and Montana Boyce work at Vandalia Health Mon Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital.
During the flooding last summer in Weston, these three spent countless hours assisting not only our co-workers who were affected, but also the community at large.
Boyce, Shelford and Stoddart spent their evenings after work and their time on the weekends to help the community discard ruined possessions, tear up destroyed flooring and dig through feet of mud and grime.
At the end of their time helping the community, they would come to the hospital covered head to toe in mud, to check on the staff who were working during this time to make sure they had all the supplies needed, as well as check on patients.
Above the physical labor they graciously provided, they maintained contact with the local distribution center to assess donations and needs and also took donations to stranded individuals who could not make it to the distribution site.
