Heroes of Healthcare: Leo Hendawi
Leo Hendawi is an IT Control Tech in the Building Operations and Maintenance department at Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center.
Recently, the spouse of a patient went to the cafeteria to get something to eat. It was a stressful day, as her husband was undergoing surgery. Upon arriving to the cafeteria, the spouse said she was looking for something healthy to eat. Hendawi heard her comments and directed her to the other side of the cafeteria and recommended the vegetable soup as a great choice.
After getting some soup and something to drink, she went to the cashier only to find out that Hendawi had already paid for her lunch.
She was touched to be the recipient of the quiet act of kindness. It meant so much to her that someone performed such a thoughtful and kind act on a stressful day for the visitor.
