Heroes of Healthcare: Kelly DeWitt
Kelly DeWitt works in Nursing at The Village at Heritage Point.
DeWitt was caring for a long-term resident who was recently sent back to the Village under Hospice care. She met with the resident, family and the hospice nurse to make sure the resident was kept comfortable.
DeWitt spent several minutes in the room comforting the resident, holding his hand and moving him to his favorite chair. She continued to provide care for the resident and emotional support to the family.
The resident expired the following shift.
The family expressed great gratitude towards the staff at the Village for providing excellent care for their father.
DeWitt uses her clinical knowledge and experience to deliver excellent care and provide prompt interventions.
She is a strong advocate for the residents and treats them with dignity and respect.
