Heroes of Healthcare: Jessica Hartman
Jessica Hartman is a nursing assistant on 3 West, CAMC Memorial Hospital.
She demonstrated exceptional teamwork, initiative and dedication to patient care during a recent shift. Although the patient was not assigned to her, she consistently went above and beyond to assist me throughout the night.
Every two hours, Hartman proactively checked in to help turn, clean and assist with wound care for the patient. Her support was not only physically helpful, but it also ensured the patient received timely, attentive and high-quality care.
Even though Hartman was assigned patients on the opposite side of the unit, she never hesitated to step in, and her actions reflected a true commitment to teamwork and patient safety. Before leaving in the morning, she even took the time to make sure the patients were turned, clean and safe.
Hartman’s initiative, compassion and strong work ethic made a significant difference during the shift and are a true reflection of the standards we strive for in patient care. She exemplifies what it means to be a supportive team member and an advocate for patients.
