Heroes of Healthcare: Jenn Hill and Morgan Coyner
Jenn Hill and Morgan Coyner are nurses in the Cardiopulmonary ICU, Vandalia Health CAMC Memorial Hospital.
CPICU cared for a patient who had recently been in and out of the nursing home. She stated to Coyner that she had a dog that she could no longer care for and needed to find a new home for him.
The patient had rescued Coco more than 15 years ago. After hearing about the situation, Hill decided to adopt Coco.
Coyner arranged for the patient’s daughter to bring Coco to Hill. The next day, the patient’s daughter brought Coco into CPICU so the patient could say goodbye to him.
On that day, the patient asked her nurse to curl her hair and get her looking nice to see Coco off to his new home. Hill came in that day with her son to pick up their new friend, Coco and Coyner, came in on her day off with a photo of Coco off and a nice blanket for the patient.
The patient was so happy and thankful she was able to give Coco to someone who would be able to care for and give him the love he deserved.
