Heroes of Healthcare: Andrea Dillon
Andrea Dillon, RNIII, works in the Cardiopulmonary ICU at Vandalia Health CAMC Memorial Hospital.
The family of a recent patient complimented Dillon on the exceptional, compassionate, and outstanding care she provided during a difficult time.
“From the moment she cared for him, she treated him with dignity, respect and kindness, always seeing him as a person rather than just a patient,” the family wrote.
Dillon took the time to understand his individual needs and ensured he was comfortable throughout his hospital stay. She consistently checked on him (and the family), offered reassurance and made sure both he and the family felt supported during his transition to hospice.
Her care was not limited to just routine rounds or shift changes, she genuinely took the initiative to frequently check in and address the family’s concerns, demonstrating a level of attentiveness that went beyond expectations.
The family was very grateful for the comfort, support and kindness Dillon provided.
