Heroes of Health Care: Dr. Sarah Setran
Dr. Sarah Setran, psychologist at the CAMC Cancer Center, is being recognized for the care she provides.
A patient was diagnosed with malignant metastatic skin cancer. Upon further testing and lab work it was revealed that he was suffering from other medical issues as well.
The news was devastating to the patient and led to depression.
The patient wrote that Setran “showed real concern to me along with empathy and I was really able to open up to her about myself, my issues and my emotional needs.”
He added that “her professionalism and concern for me saved my life.”
Setran impacts patients at some of their most difficult times.
