Heroes of Health Care: Dr. Erik Iversen

Dr. Erik Iversen is an intensivist at Charleston Area Medical Center.

He is being recognized for the care he provided for a patient with breathing complications. The patient was referred to him after a hospital stay and not feeling better after a month.

The patient was impressed with Iversen’s thorough treatment, beginning with the way he took time to explain results of a CT scan, in simple terms.

The family described Iversen as kind, patient and understanding.
